Vizio has achieved a new UltraHD TV price point with its 2015 M-Series LCD sets – as low as $600.
Each of the nine TVs (43″ M43-C1; 49″ M49-C1; 50″ M50-C1; 55″ M55-C2; 60″ M60-C3; 65″ M65-C1; 70″ M70-C3; 75″ M75-C1; and 80″ M80-C3) is UltraHD, with an upscaler. They all feature direct-LED backlighting with 32 zones (28 on the M43-C1), for local dimming capability.
Refresh rates are 120Hz on the 43″ – 55″ sets and 240Hz on the others. A High Velocity Mode activates 120fps over HDMI (1920 x 1080-and-lower content only). One of the TVs’ five HDMI ports supports UltraHD at 60fps.
All of the TVs are smart sets, with Vizio’s Internet Apps Plus platform. They use a hexa-core V6 processor (quad-core CPU and dual-core GPU) and dual-band Wi-Fi.
Viewing angles are 178° and the TVs can show 10-bit colour. They have two 10W speakers and feature component, composite, USB and RJ45 ports, in addition to the HDMI.
