Vivitek’s Projectors Work With Many Networking Protocols

Designed for the education market, Vivitek’s new short-throw projectors (the DX881ST and DW882ST) can act as a speaker for lecturers, through a microphone input.

Both models support 3D display and, from December, will work with Vivitek’s optional wireless presentation tool Novoconnect. They feature a sealed optical unit, protecting the internals from dust and dirt, and a six-segment colour wheel. Additionally, each model is compatible with networking solutions including Crestron RoomView, Extron, AMX SSDP and Telnet.

The projectors use a 230W lamp, lasting for 3,500 – 7,000 hours, depending on mode. Brightness is 3,300 (DX881ST) or 3,600 (DW882ST) lumens. They have a 15,000:1 contrast ratio; fixed zoom; +/-40 deg keystone correction; and a 10W speaker.

Resolution is 1024 by 768 on the DX881ST and 1280 x 800 on the DW882ST. Throw ratios also differ: the DX881ST has a 0.62:1 ratio and can throw a 60″ – 200″ image from 0.76 – 2.52m away. The DW882ST has a 0.52:1 ratio and can throw a 66″ – 200″ image from 0.77 – 2.24m away.

Both models measure 314 x 216 x 126mm and weigh 3.2kg. They are available now, for
