Vivitek has released two new DLP projectors for the education market, called the ‘next generation’ of ultra-short throw models. Both the DH759USTi and DW756USTi feature built-in IR pen interactivity and can be upgraded to support 10-point finger touch with a laser curtain.
As well as touch, the projectors feature interactive whiteboard functionality: NovoScreenNote (Mac and PC) software, for session recording, screen annotation and markup. They also feature sleep timer and auto-power-off functions.
The DH759USTi has 1920 x 1080 resolution and can produce 3,500 lumens of brightness from its 230W lamp (5,000 – 10,000 hour lifetime). It can throw an 88″ – 110″ image from 0.33m – 0.48m (0.33:1 throw ratio). The DW756USTi can throw an 80″ – 100″ image from 0.27m – 0.43m (0.35:1 throw ratio), with brightness of 3,300 lumens and 1280 x 800 resolution.
Contrast ratio is 10,000:1 on both models. They have a fixed zoom and +/-40% keystone correction. Two 10W speakers are built in. The projectors have ports for HDMI (x2, x1 with MHL), VGA-in (x2), VGA-out, S-Video, composite, USB-B, mini-USB, RS232 and RJ45.
Both models measure 287.7 x 374.5 x 122.6mm and weigh 5kg. They are available now.
