Visionox Orders 6th Generation Vertical Vapor Deposition for IT

What They Say

According to OLEDnet.com, a news site affiliated with UBI Research, Visionox has ordered G6 vertical vapor deposition machines for R&D on the V3 line from Applied Materials. The line is reported to be running at 30K substrates per month and is focused on flexible OLEDs. The aim of the new equipment is to evaluate and learn about the technique which might be used at a future plant at G8 or above.

Whereas G8 fabs need to use half-sheet horizontal deposition, they can use full sheet vertical and the site reports that if the tests are successful, Visionox is likely to invest in a G8.5 fab to make IT panels.

What We Think

Although Visionox is not involved in LCD production and has always been a ‘pure play’ OLED maker, unlike SDC it is making a loss, as DSCC has pointed out.   (BR)
