ViewSonic has two new DLP projectors for education and corporate use. The PG703X has 1024 x 768 resolution while PG703W has 1280 x 800 and they both produce 4,000 Ansi lumens with a throw ratio of 1.96-2.15 and supporting 30″ to 300″ images. There is a 1.1:1 zoom and the light source is a 240W lamp. The colour wheel is a six segment type and inputs are HDMI, HDMI MHL, VGA and S-video and composite. There is a 10W speaker.
Pricing is $879 for the PG703X and $969 for the GP703W and they will be available this month. A new Wi-fi HDMI dongle for collaboration, the VC10 was also released. It costs $99 and features include a four way screen split mode. The dongle also supports Airplay for Apple device support.
Separately, the company in the US announced the PS750HD FullHD UST projector. The unit has 3,000 lumens of output and includes an embedded camera, dual interactive pens, a laser curtain for 10-point interactive touch, vBoard interactive software for content creation and collaboration, and an adjustable wall mount kit. The DLP projector uses the SuperColor 6 segment colour wheel technology and will be available this month for $2,879 as a complete package.
Analyst Comment
At one time, this level of efficacy, 16.6 lumens per watt, would have been revolutionary and at the premium end of the market. In terms of lumens per dollar, these units are even better! There are some very good deals in the market these days! (BR)
