ViewSonic Enters Large UltraHD Segment

ViewSonic has joined the companies that have introduced large UltraHD monitors designed to offer an option for those thinking of 2 x 2 FullHD monitor arrays. The VX4380-4K is a 42.5″ UltraHD monitor using a 10 bit IPS panel with static contrast of 1,100:1 and luminance of 350 cd/m². Response time is quoted at 12ms (typical grey to grey). The inputs include dual HDMI 2.0, one DisplayPort and one mini-DisplayPort which are supported with PIP and PbP modes. There is also a DisplayPort out connector. Audio is supported with dual 7W speakers.

Typical power consumption is 84W (typical) or 130W max and certification is to Epeat Silver.

The ViewSonic V4380-4K is available now for an MSRP of $1,038.

Analyst Comment

Although ViewSonic quotes 10 bit grey scale support, there is no specification for colour gamut support. Philips was the first to enter this segment with a modified TV, but now there are monitors from Dell, LG and others. (BR)
