ViewSonic has added two laser-phosphor projectors and a mini-LED device to its range.
The LS800HD and LS800WU laser projectors feature a brightness of 5,000 and 5,500 ANSI lumens, respectively and feature 100,000:1 contrast and up to 30,000 hours of light source life. They support FullHD and WUXGA (1920 x 1200) and are intended for installation use. Features include a 1.65:1 zoom with vertical and horizontal keystone correction and lens shift as well as four corner adjustment. They can be used in portrait or landscape mode.
Connections include HDBaseT, HDM 1.4 (with HDCP 1.4), Composite video, USB 2.0, RJ45, VGA In/Out, RCA In/Out and RS232. The units costt $2,999 (LS800HD) and $3,199 (LS800WU) and both are expected to ship this month.
The third new unit is the M1 LED projector runs on a battery for up to two hours and outputs 250 Ansi lumens via a short throw lens with a throw ratio of 1.2:1. Resolution is 854 x 480 and there are dual Harmon Kardon speakers. Connection is via HDMI and there are USB and Audio out connections and a microSD card reader is integrated for media playback. Pricing is a very competitive $299 and the unit should be available in March.
