ViewSonic Adds New Fogra Certified 27-inch 4K UHD Monitor

ViewSonic has announced the VP2785-4K, a 27-inch 4K UHD (3840×2160) monitor that is for professional pre-publication and other colour critical applications and has been certified by Fogra and supports 99% of AdobeRGB and 98% of DCI P3. The unit is factory calibrated to achieve Delta E <2 across multiple colour spaces. The monitor includes a 14 bit 3D Look Up Table and there are ambient light and presence sensors. Hrdware calibration is also available with the optional ViewSonic Colorbration Kit.

The panel is, of course, an IPS type with 1,000:1 native contrast and brightness of 350 cd/m² and response time is quoted as 14ms. When working in the sRGB, EBU, SMPTE-C, Rec. 709 colour spaces, a special uniformity function comes into operation to maintain consistent color and luminance across the screen. For editing of HDR content, the monitor can support HDR10 content.

Inputs are DisplayPort, mini-DisplayPort and HDMI 2.0 and there are three USB 3.1 Type A, one USB 3.1 Type B and one Type C. The monitor has 130mm of height adjustment and support for pivoting. The bezels are very slim which could be an advantage in multi-display installations.

Typical power consumption is 67W (70W max) or 45W in eco mode.

US pricing is $989.99 on ViewSonic’s website, although the release quoted an MSRP of $1,200.
