Mattel’s iconic View-master toy is to be revived this year, thanks to a collaboration with Google. The original used picture reels slotted into the top of the device – now swapped for an Android phone. The new viewer is based on Google Cardboard. Users simply download an app and slot their phone into the headset, which will be available in the autumn, with a sample experience reel, for $30. Additional reel packs will cost $15.
