US Smartphone Shares Flat From 2014

In the three months ending in February 2015, smartphones had penetrated almost 77% of the US market, according to Comscore – up 5% on the September – November 2014 period. The result represented 186.3 million smartphone owners.

Apple led the market, with a 41.7% share, and Samsung followed at 28.6%; all other vendors had single-digit shares. The top five was completed by LG, Motorola and HTC (8.3%, 5.1% and 3.8%, respectively). These results were almost flat since November, with the largest change at Samsung (down 1.1 percentage points).

Despite Apple’s unit share lead, Android topped the smartphone OS market with a 52.8% share. iOS came second (41.7%), followed by Windows Phone (3.5%), Blackberry (1.8%) and Symbian (0.1%).
