What They Say
TUnilumin and STMicroelectronics (STM) said that they had collaborated on a new high-speed contactless connection technology which is based on 5G technology and has passed the joint test of China’s State Radio Monitoring Center Testing Center and SRTC Shenzhen Laboratory.
Unilumin said that it would ‘soon’ have a new product exploiting the technology and it plans further developments with STM.
What We Think
It seems to have been a week for catching up on items we missed at the time. This was reported a few weeks ago, although few details of the technology were given. As this is a joint development, I assume that STM will not offer the full technology to other LED makers. There are plenty of other applications where the technology could be exploited by STM. (BR)
