AUO estimates that UltraHD TV sales have reached around 16 million units so far this year, and will end 2015 at 24 million sets due to end-of-year demand in the USA and Europe. More than 30% of AUO’s UltraHD TV panel shipments this year have been used in 50″+ sets, expected to rise to 40% in Q4. Additionally, the company said that curved TV sales reached 2.4 million units worldwide in Q3, with a 7.1% share of the 50″+ segment. Pricing has now dropped to about a 10% premium, compared to FullHD panels.
