Ultra HD and HDR movies are now accessible via the Vudu app on Apple TV, including its catalogue of Disney movies. So far, Apple hasn’t been able to negotiate with Disney to get its movies onto the iTunes Store in anything above HD-quality.
Purchasing and renting movies on Vudu is a little haphazard, needing to be done via the platform’s website, with purchased content showing up within the app shortly after. Vudu has implemented this procedure deliberately, to prevent Apple taking a cut of its sales.
