David Game College, a private school in London, is letting artificial intelligence (AI) take center stage in the classroom. Students are using a mix of AI platforms and virtual reality (VR) headsets to learn in a way that’s tailored just for them. The idea is simple: the AI keeps track of what each student is good at and what they need more help with, adjusting their lesson plans accordingly. This means that if a student is struggling with a topic, the AI will focus on that right away, while saving stronger subjects for later review. It’s a personalized learning experience that’s all about helping each student improve where they need it most.
This is all aimed at getting to the UK’s first “teacherless” GCSE class. 20 students will be learning without traditional teachers, relying instead on AI to guide their studies. But they’re not entirely on their own. There will be learning coaches in the classroom to monitor behavior, offer support, and teach subjects that AI still finds tricky, like art and sex education.
