UK Researchers Develop Lasers for the Eyes

We don’t think it has display applications, but we were intrigued by news that a group from The University of St Andrews in Scotland, UK, has developed a semiconductor laser that can be made into a contact lens as it is flexible. A cow’s eye was used in testing. The group was able to stick these ultra-thin lasers onto banknotes and contact lenses, where they suggest the devices could be used as flexible and wearable security tags.
