UK Footfall Falls on Brexit Concerns

Data from Ipsos Retail Performance has shown that retail footfall in the UK was down 7.9% MoM in February, and 1.3% YoY. The firm believes this to be due to weakening consumer confidence at the prospect of a British exit from the EU. Wales and the South West was the only region to experience on-year growth (0.2%), while London the South East declined the most (-4.2%). Other areas of the country were mostly flat.
