UBI Rersearch of Korea reported that its estimate for the value of the medium and large OLED display market was $1.67 billion with shipments rising by 11.2% on an annual basis. On a quarterly basis, volume for OLEDs for notebooks rose from 1.14 million to 2.18 million, more or less double. TV OLED panels were up from 1.71 million to 1.96 million units with 250K QD OLED panels in the mix.
The firm is forecasting 12 million OLED TVs in 2023, as SDC boosts QD OLED production. Overall shipments should increase to 26.3 million and rise to 84.2 million by 2027 with a big boost from tablet shipments by Apple in 2024.
