UBI Research of Korea has put out its report on OLED sales in Q1 and estimates the value at $4.31 billion in Q1 2017, up 15% from the same quarter a year ago, with shipment volumes up 9% to 99.1 million. The firm said that 88% of the market was smartphones and 7% was TV (with the balance being, mainly, tablets, we assume) on a value basis. UBI said that it expects 100 million shipments of AMOLEDs for mobile apps and 300K units per quarter of TV, going forward.
The forecast is for a total AMOLED market that will grow to a CAGR of 33% by 2020, reaching US$ 59.3 billion.
