Digitimes reported that sales during the 618 shopping period in China fell in volume (online by 19.6% year on year to 2.655 million and offline down 26.9% to 868K ), but market value grew to $1.224 billion (+25.7%) for online. Offline sales value dropped 5.2% to $740 million. ASPs have risen by 56.2% to $476 because of rising prices. The data was from AVC.
Among the top 100 best-selling models sold during the festival, 34 models were available in 65-, 70-, 75-inch and above sizes, compared to 20 available a year earlier, according to AVC.
Models sized 65″ and above accounted for 38.1% of total sales.
What surprised me most about this data is that the ASP of TVs in China is above that of the US. Omdia showed a chart of ASP/inch at the DSCC/SID Business Conference . It shows that ASPs/inch in China is nearly the same as the US in 2020. (BR)
