TV panel prices stop falling

What They Say

Digitimes said that Pan Tai-chi, general manager of the TV Business Center of Innolux had said that TV panel prices have started to re-bound as TV panel inventories have bottomed out for most brands. He also said that higher end monitors and TVs have ‘started to gain momentum’. Panel prices are likely to rise again in November, but it’s uncertain if this will continue. He believes that demand will be stronger in Q1 2023.

What We Think

Hmmm… this is an interesting item, but I am always nervous when a supplier tells me prices are rising. I learned that lesson more than 25 years ago, when I realised that the ‘insider information’ I was being fed by a CRT maker were so that I would ‘soften up’ their customers for price rise announcements! Still, it would be good if the LCD market had got as bad as it is going to get. (BR)
