TSMC announced its FY17 Q2 results with consolidated revenue of NTD 213.8 billion ($7.1 billion) and net income of NTD 66.3 billion ($2.2 billion). The quarterly results saw both the revenue and net income decline by 3.6% and 8.6% respectively on a yearly basis.
The revenue and net income also showed a decline over the previous quarter, by 8.6% and 24.4% respectively. The management commented that the seasonality factor for mobile products, poor inventory management and unfavorable exchange rate fluctuations had resulted in the dismal quarterly results. The FY17 Q3 results are expected to see an improvement due to new product launches in mobile devices.
