TSMC’s Third Quarter Down

Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company posted Q3 net profit of NT$89.93 billion ($3.0 billion), down 7.1% from a year earlier, on turnover which slipped 3.2% to NT$252.11 billion ($8.3 billion). For the first nine months, there were profits of NT$243.83 billion ($8.1 billion), up 4.2%, on revenue which increased 2.1% to NT$699.88 billion ($23.1 billion). The company said that shipments of 10nm chips provided 10% of sales, up from 1% in Q2.
