Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) reported results for the fourth quarter ended December 31, 2017. TSMC announced Q4 revenue of NT$277.57 billion ($9.21 billion), compared to NT$262.23 billion ($ 8.19 billion) in Q4, fiscal year 2016. Net income was NT$99.29 billion ($3.30 billion) compared to NT$100.2 billion ($ 3.13 billion) last year. Year-over-year, fourth quarter revenue increased 5.9% while net income slightly decreased 0.9%. The company said decreases in net income and EPS were mainly due to the strong appreciation of NT dollar.
