BOE Exempt from Repaying $984 Million Loan

There are unconfirmed reports coming out of Taiwan that China-based panel maker BOE Technology has been exempted from repaying a CNY6.3 billion loan ($984 million) by the local government in Fuzhou, China.

The loan was provided to the company for the construction of its 8.5G LCD fab in the city. Having achieved the criteria for government subsidies, the company is no longer required to repay the loan, which will reportedly translate into an income of CNY900 million in 2018 ($140.5 million).
