Track the Latest Trends in Wearable Technology at the Display Week 2015
Business Track Series, Co-organized by SID and IHS/Display Search

We recently caught up with John Jacobs, SID’s Conventions Vice-Chair: BC and MFC, to get a sneak peek at some of the hottest display developments hitting the wearables industry during the Wearable-Flexible Market Focus Conference on Thurs., June 4. He also took the opportunity to talk about the Business Conference (June 1) and the other Market Focus Conference on Touch (June 3), which are also part of the Business Track Series this year. Check out the video below to watch the interview and learn more, and then make it your goal to register for these insightful events, which are designed to explore the existing and emerging technologies, consumer demands and financial success factors associated with the dynamic display market.

Excerpts of John’s interview:

“Wearable to this point, for lack of a better phrase, has been geek chic. It’s devices designed by tech people for tech people. The CTO of Fossil, the second largest watch maker in the world, is going to deliver the keynote at the wearable conference and talk about what non-tech people want on their wrist in a technology product.”

“The display industries have their share of challenges with financials. The speakers will talk about how to turn that around and share how they look at new applications and new markets that might help change the profitability structures.”

“We have speakers from material companies, like Nanosys, and Achin Bhowmik, who runs Intel’s visual computing group. They’ll talk about new approaches to enhance display industry profitability.”
