Some display companies have chosen the wrong time to get more business in the automotive segment as the chip shortage continues to bite. The Nikkei reported that Toyota will cut its production by 40% compared to its plan, making 500K in September, against a plan of 500K. Nikkei said that the firm had been relatively unaffected up to now but the shortage has been compounded by Covid problems in Vietnam and Malaysia.
