Toshiba in the US has launched the Tecra X40 notebook which uses a 14″ FullHD touch panel in the typical size of a 13″ class laptop. The system uses a 7th generation Intel processor and is 16.9mm thick. The company highlighted the security features of the machine, which is aimed at corporate users. The chassis is made of magnesium alloy and there are a range of ports including dual USB Type-C ports and USB 3.0. The Type-C supports power delivery, Thunderbolt 3 and display. External graphics are supported by HDMI. The system is BTO with a wide range of options and with prices starting at $1,329.
To match the support of Thunderbolt, there is a new Toshiba Thunderbolt 3 Dock that includes dual USB Type-C, gigabit ethernet, VGA, DisplayPort, mini-DisplayPort and HDMI ports and can support up to three UltraHD monitors simultaneously. The dock costs $299.
