Toshiba Enables DVI Pass-Through in TD-E

Toshiba’s original TD-E range of mid-size signage monitors was shown at Technology Exposed 2014 (Display Monitor Vol 21 No 38). The company has now developed the second generation, which will be launched this year.

As with the original models, the TD-E2 displays are designed to run 16/7. They can be part of a video wall (up to 5 x 5), and used in portrait or landscape orientations.

A new feature is the addition of a DVI-D port, which can act as an input or output. This port is featured along with HDMI (x2), VGA, composite/component, RS232, RJ45 and USB interfaces. An embedded USB media player enables content sharing from an external USB device; seven-day scheduling is built in. If no input signal is detected from a given port, the displays will switch to a nominated backup input.

Four sizes will be available: 43″ (TD-E432), 50″ (TD-E502), 55″ (TD-E552) and 65″ (TD-E652). All of these feature IPS panels with 1920 x 1080 resolution and 178° viewing angles. A direct LED backlight provides 450 cd/m² of brightness to the display. Two 5W speakers are built in.

The TD-E432 features a bezel width of 12.1mm; the TD-E502 a width of 16.9mm; the TD-E552 a width of 16.6mm; and the TD-E652 a width of 16mm.
