Quoting data from Digital TV Research, RapidTVNews forecast that the top five US SVOD platforms will account for 53% of the global market in 2026. That will mean a combined total of 910 million subscribers (out of 1.7 billion) and up from 585 million this year. The research suggests that Netflix could continue to be the top player, rising by 53 million subscribers to 275 million by the end of the forecast, although Disney+ will have the highest growth, from 131 million now to 271 million. The platform could go past Netflix by 2027.
The SVOD Platform Forecasts report also found that Amazon Prime Video will have 245.9 million subs by 2026 while HBO Max is set to have 83 million, up from 29 million at the end of 2021.

Hmmmm… On the other side of the argument, a few days ago it was reported that Disney+ growth slowed ‘dramatically’ in the last quarter, hitting Disney’s stock price. (BR)
