Tim Cook Debunks macOS and iOS Merging Rumours

After months of rumours, Apple CEO Tim Cook has finally put paid to reports that iOS and macOS are to be merged. (Apple Reported to be Unifying iOS and MacOS)

Speaking to the Sydney Morning Herald, Cook said, “One of the reasons that both of them are incredible is because we pushed them to do what they do well. And if you begin to merge the two, you begin to make trade-offs and compromises”.

Recent reports suggest that Apple is planning to replace the Intel chips found in its Mac computers and notebooks in favour of the proprietary processing hardware featured in the iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch and Apple TV. (Apple to Ditch Intel CPUs?)
