THX (founded by George Lucas, but, these days, owned by US-based and Hong Kong-listed game specialist, Razer Inc) has started a consumer electronics testing website and has published a list of TVs that it has rated and reviewed and has been quite critical of reviews from media publications. THX says that it uses industry standards and a proprietary testing method to establish objective and data-driven product evaluations.

Those that perform reviews have hit back by pointing out that not only does the THX list of products look a bit strange, but also that THX has plenty of financial ‘skin in the game’ as it is offering consulting services to help companies improve their products. Clearly, Samsung is not taking the advice from THX as its Q7 set from last year is ranked bottom of the ten models shown on the website. The site also lists the Sony (BR)
