Harmonic has presented a binding offer to Thomson Video Networks, for a 100% acquisition of the company. Thomson has accepted the offer, which is worth $75 million. Harmonic is backed up by Edmond de Rothschild Investment Partners.
The combined products and solutions of the two companies are deployed in over 100 countries worldwide. The new company would have a video-focused R&D organisation of more than 600 engineers; a global service organisation of more than 300 professionals; and more than 300 channel partners.
The proposed transaction is anticipated to be added to Harmonic’s non-GAAP net income in the first year after closing (expected in Q1’16).
