The Nothing Phone has now been shown to a number of people including a YouTuber who looked at the design. In particular he was impressed by the way that certain patterns of LED light were shown matching to ring tones, so that it was clear who was calling even when the phone is silent. The handset also uses an LED bar to show the battery level.
What We Think
This looks like a thoughtful design and is bound to get some attention. However, the smartphone business is about scale these days and it’s hard to see this kind of feature being attractive enough to drive buyers from the brands they already know. (BR)
