Tesco’s Hudl2 tablet, successor to last year’s Hudl (Display Monitor Vol 20 No 37), features a larger screen – but correspondingly higher price.
A deeper integration with Tesco services comes with Blinkbox and My Tesco, so owners can see their Clubcard points and shop online. Eight different colours are available, with a range of accessories to match including headphones, earbuds and cases. As with last year’s model, parents can lock certain aspects of the tablet in specific profiles (up to seven are supported), such as apps and films. Time limits can also be set on use.
Hudl2 has an 8.3″ display with 1920 x 1200 resolution (compared to last year’s 7″ 1440 x 900). A quad-core 1.83GHz Intel Atom CPU runs Android 4.4.2 and the tablet has 16GB of storage as standard (expandable).
