TCL Communication has launched the Alcatel 5V, which the company describes as the flagship of its reimagined smartphone portfolio. The device features a 6.2″ LCD display in a notch design, with a 720 × 1500 resolution, 268 pixels per inch, a 19:9 aspect ratio and an 84.5% screen-to-body ratio.
It runs Android 8.1, powered by a Mediatek MT6762 Helio P22 chipset, 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage, expandable by up to 128GB via a micro SD card slot. The Alcatel 5V’s camera set-up includes a 12MP + 2MP rear camera and an 8MP internal camera.
The device also incorporates Google Lens image recognition features and Face Key, biometric security technology that uses facial recognition to identify. A rear-mounted fingerprint sensor also provides additional security.
Alcatel 5V will be available in select markets from July at prices starting from $199.99.
