TCL Launches Into UK Market With Exceptional Television Range

TCL, the world’s third largest TV manufacturer, announced that it has officially entered the UK market with its UK debut range now available in retail channels and fully supported.

Since its creation in China in 1981, innovation has been an integral part of TCL’s DNA. The company offers innovative products which combine quality, design, ease of use and latest technologies. A major player in the global consumer electronics market, TCL is revolutionising the television world through its numerous innovations that are now available to UK consumers.

Appointed to the role of TCL UK Country Manager in early 2018, Bernie Chen commented; “We see the UK market as one of great opportunity for TCL and are delighted to be up and running now, continuing the global success story that is TCL. TCL entered the European market by partnering with Thomson in France in 2004 to create the TTE Europe joint venture to sell televisions under the Thomson brand. In 2009, TCL branded products became available across several European territories.

Globally, the TCL brand continues apace and in 2017 it became the third biggest selling brand in North America. Its LCD TV sales volumes rose by 16.4% to 23.3 million units in 2017 including 15.1 million smart TVs and 5.8 4K TVs representing a year-on-year increase of 42.5% and 46% respectively.

The TCL range is now fully compliant with terrestrial broadcasting services and applications combining catch-up, on-demand services and live television together in one place with no monthly cost including programming from BBC iPlayer, ITV Hub, All 4, Demand 5 and UKTV Play alongside 70 TV channels and 15HD channels.

In February 2018, TCL announced a deal with Paris Saint Germain and Brazil football superstar Neymar Jr. who will be the brand’s global ambassador. As part of the partnership with TCL, Neymar Jr. brings his star power and exceptional winning qualities to a wider global community in order to bring the brand and fans closer together.
