Reuters reported that a Japanese academic has developed a system to use a transparent rollable film over a display to create a ‘lickable display’. The system uses 10 flavour canisters that spray combinations onto the film. The idea is for those that might want to combine interactive material with flavours – for example training sommeliers and cooks, and tasting games and quizzes.
The aim is to develop a platform where different flavours could be downloaded from around the world, as music is now.
What We Think
I had to check the date when I saw this article to make sure it wasn’t April 1st! Still it did seem a light hearted application to finish our service before the holiday!
