Taiwanese Company Results August 2017

Acer announced August results with revenues of NT$20.05 billion ($668.3 million), indicating an increase of 10.4% on a monthly basis and 5.7% on a yearly basis. The total revenue for year 2017 have so far amounted to NT$147.8 billion ($4.9 billion).

Compal‘s monthly result showed revenues of NT$78.5 billion ($2.3 billion), showing an increase of 11.4% on a monthly basis and 21.6% on a yearly basis. The total revenue for this year is NT$550.3 billion ($18.3 billion), with an increase of 17% compared to the same period last year.

Foxconn Electronics announced August results with revenues of NT$316.8 billion (US$10.6 billion), indicating an increase of 0.5% on a monthly basis and 1.3% on a yearly basis. Revenue for the year to date in 2017 was NT$2526.2 billion ($84.2 billion), with an increase of 1.6% compared to last year.

Gigabyte Technology reported August results with revenues of NT$5.5 billion ($183.6 million), which is an increase of 5.9% on a monthly basis and 10.0% on a yearly basis. The total revenue for year 2017 so far amounted to NT$38.6 billion ($1.3 billion), with an increase of 11.2% compared to the same period in 2016.

Lite-on Semiconductor announced August results with revenues of NT$1.07 billion (US$35.6 million), indicating an increase of 3.0% on a monthly basis and 17.0% on a yearly basis. Sales of the discrete components grew on a monthly basis driven by a pick-up in demand for games consoles and PCs, while sales of its modular systems rose 1% on a monthly basis and over 50% on a yearly basis. Modular systems have accounted for 10% of Lite-On Semi’s overall revenues.

Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) saw revenues of NT$91.9 billion (US$3.1 billion) in August, representing an increase of 28.4% on a monthly basis and a decline of 2.5% on a yearly basis. The total revenue for the year to date is NT$611.2 billion ($20.4 billion), wihich is an increase of 2.6% compared to last year.
