Taiwan Shipped 21 Million LCD Monitors in Q3

According to new data released by Digitimes Research, Taiwan’s LCD monitor manufacturers shipped 21.05 million units in the third quarter of 2017, a 5.1% growth quarter-on-quarter and 1% year-on-year. Taiwan currently holds a 67% global market share in volume, at a total value of $2.31 billion, up 2.4% quarter-on-quarter and 8.8% year-on-year.

Of third-quarter shipments, screens 22″ and above accounted for 52.5% of the volume, while monitors between 18″ and below 22″ made up 43.8% of shipments.

TPV Technology holds the largest market share, with over 50% of overall shipments, with Qisda, Foxconn and Wistron in second, third and fourth place respectively.

The report goes on to say that shipments for 2017 overall are estimated at 120.03 million units, a decline of 3.4% year-on-year. Shipments are expected to continue to drop at a 2.2% CAGR between 2017 and 2022.
