What They Say
IDC released its data for the European tablet market in Q2, which, at 11.8 million units, was 1.7% down, the first drop sine the start of the pandemic. Consumers bought fewer tablets but volumes are still above pre-pandemic levels. The details are in the table.
The firm also forecast the second half of the year at 24.3 million devices, down 10.9% YoY. Education demand is declining. However, commercial adoption is increasing as restrictions ease. The firm sees CAGR of 6.3% until 2025.
What We Think
The commercial increase is a factor in the increase in Windows device shipments, I would expect. (BR)
