Chinese sources say that ASE and VisEra Technologies have won orders to package under-glass fingerprint sensors from Synaptics, to be used in the Samsung Galaxy S8 smartphone. The FS4500 chip is reported to be able to work through glass up to 300μm thick and that is due to start production this quarter.
