For those looking forward to the Swarovski smartwatch at Baselworld 2017, the news is that the company is postponing the launch.
The smartwatch was announced at CES 2017, and was advertised as an Android Wear 2.0 device for women. In a statement given to Wareable, Robert Buchbauer, a member of the Swarovski executive board, stated that Swarovski is simply not ready yet and cannot yet make any statement regarding the timing of the launch. He also stated that the postponement was “purely driven by Swarovski’s strive for excellence in execution”.
The Swarovski smartwatch was first mooted during a Qualcomm press conference and it was believed to be using the latest Snapdragon processor, although the smartwatch was never seen.
Swarovski is still known for wearable tech after it teamed up to release Swarovski editions of Samsung, Misfit, Polar and Huawei devices.
