Leaked images said to be of Sony’s forthcoming Xperia XZ3 smartphone have emerged online, while some reports have indicated that the device may feature a 48-megapixel primary camera. Indeed, Sony recently announced the development of a 48MP camera sensor, but the jury’s out as to whether such a lens will actually make it into this new smartphone.
An online retailer’s premature listing of the device said that the XZ3 will feature a 5.7″ display with a 2160 × 1080 resolution, a Snapdragon 845 chipset, 6GB RAM, 64GB internal storage (expandable via micro SD), a 19+12MP dual-lens primary camera and a 13MP internal camera.
However, the handset’s camera isn’t the only specification subject to conflicting reports. Some reports say that the device will actually feature a 5.9″ screen with a resolution of 2880 × 1440. According to the OLED Association, the XZ3 will also use flexible OLED display technology. Sony is rumoured to be announcing the new handset at the IFA 2018 press conference on August 30th. If that’s true, we won’t have long to wait for confirmation.
