Sony is to launch a 77” OLED TV which will be available in US stores in late July. The Sony XBR-77A1E will retail at $19,999 and will be available from Best Buy, Amazon and authorised Sony dealers. The set can be pre-ordered now and will be the company’s most expensive TV.
It is the larger brother of the 55″ and 65″ models and features acoustic surface technology that allows the screen to serve as the display’s speaker. There is also a subwoofer installed on the rear of the stand.
Like the smaller A1 OLED models, the new 77” offers UltraHD resolution and support for three HDR formats. HDR10 and HLG are active now and Dolby Vision will be added with a firmware update later this year.
Launch details for Europe have not yet been announced.
