Sony Europe has announced it will release new mid and low-range TVs this year. The mid-range XF80 and XF75 are both edge-lit, LCD Android TVs with Ultra HD resolutions, coming in screen sizes ranging from 43″ to 65″. Both models are HDR compatible, and the XF80 features Triluminos, which boosts peak brightness, but being edge-lit, neither model is expected to deliver spectacular HDR results. Neither the XF80 or the XF75 incorporates a twin-tuner either.
Meanwhile, the low-end WF6 and RF4 both offer a maximum 1080p resolution, and neither run Android TV, though the WF6 provides access to Netflix and YouTube.
All four models will be released in Europe in March 2018. Pricing information, as well as a release outside of Europe, is yet to be announced.
