Solid Fixings Prevent Distortion, Says BenQ

Two new ultra-wide ‘bar-type’ displays have been introduced by BenQ. The 28″ BH280 and 38″ BH380 can be used 24/7, with a 50,000 hour lifetime. Intended use is for areas where space is limited, such as trade show stands or elevators.

BenQ BH380 LCD display croppedPortrait and landscape formats are both supported, with a special emphasis on preventing colour distortion in portrait mode. BenQ has fitted the displays with more solid attachment points to all edges, to eliminate mura from mechanical distortion.

The displays have 1920 x 538 resolution, a 60Hz frame rate, 178° viewing angles and 8-bit panels. DVI, VGA and RS232 ports are built in.

Brightness is 700 cd/m² on the 28″ unit and 800 cd/m² on the 38″. They also differ in contrast ratios (3,000:1/4,000:1), response times (6.5ms/9ms) and NTSC gamut coverage (72%/68%).

BenQ’s new public displays are on sale now. Price is on application.
