As expected, Sky in the UK has released its Sky Glass SmartTV which will be available in 43″, 55″ and 65″ and five colours. They are UltraHD sets with QD film for WCG. The UI is an enhancement of the SkyQ service, previously available on its STBs. There is voice control in the set and also in the remote. Other features include Dolby Atmos and Dolby Vision support and an ambient light sensor.
The EPG integrates broadcast and streaming services. Pricing is from £849 to £1,049 and the sets will be available on a monthly leasing deal, like its boxes have been. Availability is 18th October in the UK and in other countries in Europe next year.

This is a big deal for the UK market and one of those inflection points that I love. I started to write some more comments, but realised it was going to be a bit long for a WBS note, so I’ll write it as my Display Daily tomorrow. See you then! (BR)
