Sky Sales Result 14/10/2016

Sky reported results for the first quarter of its financial year, with growth of 5% on a like for like basis and group revenue of £3.1 billion ($3.8 billion), and up 7% overall. The group added 100,000 subscribers in the quarter and revenues were up 9% in Germany and Austria. 22,000 customers were added in Italy. Sky’s costs have increased because of the cost of acquiring content, especially soccer, and Sky is making cost reductions elsewhere. The company wants to get into the mobile service business as it has extended its business into broadband in the last year.
