Sigmaintell Research Releases TV Panel Price Trend Report for June

According to Sigmaintell, TV panel demand continued to weaken in May, with prices declining further. In June, the demand for panel will be restored as the market enters a busy season, building panels for sets that will hit the market later in the year. Meanwhile, panel manufacturers are pushing structural adjustment of production capacity.

It is expected that panel price decline will narrow in June. The analysis of the price performance of each size is as follows:

  • After a substantial drop in prices in April and May, 32″ panel manufacturers will actively reduce capacity allocation for this size.
  • 49″ and 50″ panels have weak demand, high inventory and oversupply. Average price is expected to maintain a decline of about $4 to $5.
  • 55″ panel manufacturers are gradually increasing supply, so pricing is expected to decline by about $5 in June.
  • As for larger sizes, with the gradual recovery of overseas stocking demand, their decline is expected to be less than $10.
