What They Say
Sharp saw sales up 1.9% to $10.78 billion for the first half of its fiscal 2020, but saw profits decline 17.8% as sales of office printers dropped. The company expects to get back on track in the second half of the year.
What We Think
I remember, many years ago, working with another company that was strong in print and copier services. Margins and profits were so much better than in displays that it was very hard for the firm to get its best staff and management to focus on the display business, which was so hard and where margins were so squeezed. Sharp has a very well established print, POS and copying business. (BR)
